On Wednesday October 11. 2017 at approximately 5:00 PM Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Lupardo stopped a 2008 Chevrolet Pickup Truck that was traveling west bound on State Route 17 in the Town of Thompson, for a vehicle and traffic violation. A computer check of the driver indicated that his license was suspended. A subsequent investigation revealed that both the driver and his passenger were in possession of narcotics. Taken into custody was the driver, Andrew M. Hollenbeck, 32, of 238 Old Loomis Road in Liberty and Glynn Spencer, age 60, of 428 Fraser Road Apt#4, in Kiamesha Lake NY.

Hollenbeck was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, all Misdemeanors. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Thompson Court at a later date.

Glynn Spencer was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell, all Felonies. It is alleged that he was in possession of approximately 239 bags of heroin weighing roughly 44.41 grams and crack cocaine weighing about 8.79 grams, Spencer was arraigned before Town of Thompson Judge Sharon Jankiewicz and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.

Sheriff Mike Schiff said that “within hours, this heroin would have been on the streets of Sullivan County”.  He commended Deputy Lupardo for” looking beyond the traffic ticket”.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the post arrest investigation by Homeland Security Investigations.
