Callicoon Artwalk

CALLICOON, NY — The Callicoon Artwalk will be held on Saturday, October 12 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Callicoon Artwalk is a platform for showcasing and supporting visual and performing arts created in the region. This event is free and open to the public and a major force for developing cultural initiatives in Callicoon and the county.

Enjoy vendors, food and drink, live music, dance performances and artworks in a variety of mediums.

Harvest and Heritage Days

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13, Honesdale is hosting its annual Harvest and Heritage Days event. There are a variety of activities scheduled throughout both days.

On both days, craft vendors will line Main Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and DJ Tom Emanski will provide music at the Fred Miller Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For a small fee, hayrides will be offered downtown from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Craft and vendor fair

MILFORD, PA — The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Milford will hold its fourth annual craft and vendor fair on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fair will consist of items for sale by crafters, artisans, and direct-sale company representatives. Additionally, a pumpkin picking patch is planned, and there will be baked goods, hot dogs, soda and water available for purchase.

‘Nosferatu’ with live musical accompaniment

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, October 12, The Cooperage welcomes back the Nefarious Musical Accompaniment for the screening of the silent movie “Nosferatu.” There will also be an exhibit of poster designs for the sixth annual Canaltown Short Spooky Movie Festival preceeding the performance.

‘Rocky Horror’ returns

FORESTBURGH, NY — On Friday and Saturday nights from October 11 to 26, the Forestburgh Playhouse will present “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” for six performances. Attendees are encouraged to dress up, and prop bags will be sold at the door.

Tickets cost $48 and include a pre-show dinner. Doors open at 6 p.m.; dinner will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Fermenting workshop

DAMASCUS, PA — On Sunday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Farm Arts Collective, an agri-cultural center based on Willow Wisp Organic Farm, presents a hands-on fermenting workshop led by a panel of teachers. Sauerkraut, beet kvaas and kimchi will be the three main ferments with additional lessons of half-sour pickles and garlic ferment.

Participants should bring three quart jars, two small jars and one large bowl. Organic cabbage, beets, Napa cabbage and garlic will be available for purchase at the workshop, or participants may feel free to bring their own produce listed. Salt and spices will be provided.

The Big Eddy Film Festival’s Audience Award recipient

NARROWSBURG, NY — The eighth annual Big Eddy Film Festival took place September 20 to 22 at the Narrowsburg Union and Tusten Theatre. Selena Miles’s bio-pic “Martha: A Picture Story” received the highest rating at this year’s event.

The audience award is determined by audience voting during the festival. This is the fourth year that Big Eddy has given this award.

Snowboarding simulator

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, October 12 from 1 to 2 p.m., Ski Big Bear will partner with The Cooperage to offer activities that encourage balance, social skills and cooperative play while introducing children to snowboarding and skiing, as well as other winter activities.

Children will practice their snowboarding skills and build their confidence indoors before taking it to the slopes this winter. There will be opportunities to learn about the discounts available for this upcoming season at Elk Mountain and Ski Big Bear. The program will include an art project and snack for kids grade K through 2.

Catskill Provisions Tasting Room ribbon cutting

CALLICOON, NY — After months of renovations, the Catskill Provisions Tasting Room, formerly the Callicoon Firehouse at 16 Upper Main St., will open on Thursday, October 17 at 11 a.m.

Regular hours will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
