Seeking re-election as Sullivan County Legislator, District 2

My name is Nadia Rajsz and I am seeking re-election as Sullivan County Legislator, District 2 (Forestburgh, Lumberland and portions of Highland and Mamakating). For the past three years, I have served the residents of District 2 and Sullivan County to the best of my ability.

As a longtime resident and former supervisor of the Town of Lumberland, I understand the particular needs and issues of our towns, especially the river towns in my district. As an educator and healthcare professional who is also a union member, I have always been a strong advocate for workers’ rights and the wellbeing of our residents, which I have continually supported as a legislator.

The Sullivan County Legislature has been confronted with and overcome many issues this term. Despite these challenges, we have strived to keep taxes in line for our residents. We assisted our communities after our county was devastated by several weather-related events, approved the construction of a new jail and are working on improving our county’s infrastructure. Additionally, I have successfully advocated for the restoration of funding for the continued operation of the Upper Delaware Council, and approved allocating $250,000 to nearly two dozen nonprofits and community groups to use for worthwhile projects.

As Chairwoman of Health and Family Services and Personnel, I have worked to make necessary enhancements for the benefit of the residents and employees of our county. Some of these improvements include reviewing employee salaries and benefits, addressing the opioid crisis by helping to develop the Sullivan County Opioid Response Network and initiating the Over-dose Detection Mapping (ODMAP) system to more proactively monitor and address opioid overdoses countywide.

Please vote on June 25 in the Democratic and Independent primaries. Your vote is important in continuing to move Sullivan County forward!

Full-time, hands-on legislator for District 2

To all my constituents in Mamakating, Forestburgh, Highland and Lumberland make ME, Kathy LaBuda your District 2 legislator!

I am running as your legislator because I’m a person that excels at public service, always trying to make a difference in my community—it’s as simple as that! When I can help people and make a difference in their lives, I feel truly fulfilled. To be a good legislator, you need to have that passion for the people and work hard to accomplish good things for them!

The people in my district deserve a full-time hands-on legislator, [and] they deserve leadership in Monticello to be heard and a person who is willing to do this job FULL TIME. I have a proven record of being a hands-on fighter for our seniors, our veterans, our children, our first responders, our environment and our rural way of life.

As your neighbor, I am president of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 1266, board member of the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless, and member of the Basha Kill Area Association.

I am running as a Democrat whereas my opponent is running on the REPUBLICAN line!

My opponent has also been proven to “flip” on important issues such as staggered terms and sharing of the sales tax to the townships, etc.

The Democratic Primary is Tuesday, June 25 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Come out and vote for ME because YOU, the people of District 2, deserve better!
