Tickets on sale for Main Wear Expo

HONESDALE, PA — On Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m., The Cooperage will host its third annual Main Wear Expo, featuring local models in fashion curated by Alessandra Iavarone of the Velvet Maple Lifestyle Shoppe. This fashion show fundraiser will benefit The Cooperage Project and includes clothing, decor and accessories from 12 different boutiques and businesses. The Cooperage kitchen will provide “fancy eats,” along with the Moka Origins chocolate fountain and a cash bar of signature cocktails by Lang Beverage Company. There will also be a silent jewelry auction. Tickets cost $40 in advance and $50 at the door. To reserve, call 570/253-2020 or email info@thecooperageproject.org.



‘Little Shop of Horrors’ musical

MONTICELLO, NY — The Monticello High School is performing “Little Shop of Horrors” for its annual musical on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, March 31, at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students with ID, $5 for adults and free for senior citizens. The musical stars Eddie Spears as Seymour, Briana Ibanez as Audrey, Annay Ames-Shaw as Audrey II, Erin Thompson as Mushnik, Andrew Lounsbury as the Dentist, and Amelia Gleyzer and Sofia Heimowitz and Kayla Lindstadt as the urchins.



Wanna’ dance with somebody?

MATAMORAS, PA — On Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m., Triversity, the center for gender and sexual diversity, is throwing a prom at the Best Western Inn at Hunt’s Landing. The theme for this year is “Wanna Dance with Somebody/Celebrating the Grammy” with music by DJ Brad Keller of Keller Sound Entertainment and other live entertainment throughout the night.

Tickets cost $55 for adults and $35 for young adults, ages 14 to 20. No one is turned away due to lack of funds, so consider donating a ticket. Tickets can be purchased and donated at www.2019triversity-prom.eventbrite.com.



Five galleries opening at the Narrowsburg Union

 NARROWSBURG, NY — On Saturday, April 6 from 5 to 7:30 p.m., the opening reception for five different art galleries will be held at the Narrowsburg Union. Nancy Wells’s “Dancing with the Wind,” Debra Cortese’s “Shifting Totems,” Claudine Luchsinger’s “The Organic Abstract,” Gregory J. Pelly’s “Through the Half Box” and Blake and Jessica Barroso’s “Work in Progress” will be on view through Thursday, May 18. The Narrowsburg Union is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.



Shorts and sweets for April Fools

‘We Are Golden’ exhibit at Bethel Woods

BETHEL, NY — On Saturday, March 30, The Museum at Bethel Woods will open for the 2019 season with a special exhibit titled “We Are Golden: Reflections on the 50th Anniversary of The Woodstock Festival and Aspirations for a Peaceful Future.” Doors of the museum open at 10 a.m., and the exhibit will open to the general public at 11:30 a.m. The exhibit will feature “a large collection of authentic Woodstock artifacts such as instruments, clothing, equipment, art and photography.” At 12 noon in the Event Gallery, music historian Andy Zax, filmmaker Amalie R. Rothschild and museum director and senior curator Wade Lawrence will discuss the historic festival and the inspiration for the special exhibition.



New photography and sculpture exhibits

NARROWSBURG, NY — On Saturday, March 30 from 3 to 5 p.m., the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance is hosting the opening reception for Lisa DiLillo’s photography exhibit, “Before the Echo,” and Eric Baylin’s sculpture exhibit, “Branches, Rocks, and String.” The exhibits will be on view through May 4. On Saturday, April 20 at 2 p.m., DiLillo and Baylin will discuss their work in a free talk open to the public.

Celebrating the world’s oldest art form

BARRYVILLE, NY — On Saturday, April 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Artists’ Market Community Center, the Barryville Area Arts Association is sponsoring a free event to celebrate the “world’s oldest art form [which] predates cave paintings by tens of thousands of years.” The historical display includes representations of ancient jewelry, contemporary jewelry and a brief presentation on the history of the art form. Music and refreshments will provided at this free event. The Artists’ Market is located at 114 Richardson, Ave. in Shohola, PA.
