What a crazy world we live in. I made it through summer so far with being safe. It's funny when you are planning a vacation and you get so excited, that you cannot wait to get there.

A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to meet her at Nora's Loving Spoonful for dinner, I had that same excitement. The hot dog was great and the banana split was so big, believe it or not, I was not able to finish it. While we were sitting there people who I have not seen in a while were showing up, Kelly Healey, Frank Passarella getting ice cream for him and his wife Christine, Dottie and Herman Esselman, you know my night was made. It's so nice to see friends and get out of the house.

The end of August always meant to me school was just around the corner.

I really feel bad for the kids and parents today. School is open, school is closed, home school go in a few days. The poor parents who both have to go to work full time and the child only goes to school 3 days a week.

If you have family and friends to watch your kids that is great, if not I feel for you, you are in my prayers. Have a healthy and happy school year.

I am the type of person who was raised if you can help others, do it. I was thinking how can I help, so I thought about making donations.

I sent a donation to the local food pantry Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry, PO Box 54, Narrowsburg, NY 12764; Boys & Girls Club, www.bgcorange.org; and the Liberty NY Rotary Club Operation Feed. You can mail a check to Liberty Rotary Club, PO Box 493, Liberty, NY 12754 and put Operation Feed 20 in memo line, or go on to Facebook and make a donation online.

There are so many places that could use a donation. Lake Huntington, NY Lake Association, Inc. is also looking for donation to help keep our lake clean and healthy. It's great to drive by and look at all the activity on the lake. You can send your donation to Lake Huntington, NY Lake Association at P.O. Box 95 Lake Huntington, NY 12752.

It does not matter how big of a donation you make it just matters that you are helping others.

Once again I would like to thank my readers for supporting me in writing the Lake Huntington News. If you have any news you would like to get out there, please let me know. I am here to help you help our town.
