HONESDALE, PA — Victors from the 2019 municipal election and their families filled the newly renovated courtroom in the Wayne County Courthouse for the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, January 6. President Judge Janine Edwards, who performed the ceremony, also welcomed Sen. Lisa Baker, Rep. Jonathan Fritz and former Judge Raymond Hamill.

“As you serve, I ask that you listen completely, act with empathy, have integrity, empower yourself with knowledge and commit to your community,” Edwards told the newly-elected officials. “I am confident in all of you today and in your duties going forward.”

Among those sworn-in included: Wayne County auditors Catherine Jane Rickard, Carla Komar and Kathy Schloesser; Wayne County Coroner Edward Howell; Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell; Wayne County Prothonotary Ed Sandercock; Wayne County Register of Wills and Recorder of Deeds Deborah Bates; Wayne County Sheriff Mark Steelman; Wayne County Treasurer Brian Field; and the Wayne County Commissioners Brian Smith, Joe Adams and Jocelyn Cramer. A number of township and borough officials-elect also attended the ceremony, though it was not required.
