Free senior safety event outlines sepsis prevention

MONTICELLO, NY — The eighth annual Senior Safety Day on Wednesday, October 17, will address medication safety and senior scams related to sepsis—the body’s extreme response to an infection.

The Sullivan County Office for the Aging (OFA) and Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) Caregiver Resource Center will host this free event at the Ted Stroebele Recreation Center at 2 Jefferson St. Registration, light breakfast and the health fair begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the OFA annual public hearing at 9 a.m.

Guest speakers, including medical and safety professionals, will offer information beginning at 10:30 a.m. Lunch and door-prize drawings will conclude the event at 12 noon. Participants must be present to win a drawing.
