Honesdale to light star during pandemic

HONESDALE, PA — The Greater Honesdale Partnership (GHP) and Honesdale Borough have decided to light the star atop Iriving Cliff on Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m.  The GHP is asking residents to show support by turning their porch lights on at the same time.

"For us, this demonstrates a united community," the GHP said in a release. "This shows we stand with our town and members. More than ever it is important we feel connected. This crisis will only display our strength and love for one another.  Hopefully, the star will inspire a feeling of peace and help calm the fear of the unknown."

Residents of Honesdale are urged to continue safe social distancing practice by not congregating in large groups to watch the star light up. Folks can either watch from their homes, or see a live video feed by clicking here.
