Spotted lanternfly and invasive species mapping workshop

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — On Friday, August 2, from 10:15 a.m. to 12 noon, the Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership will present a workshop at Morgan Outdoors to teach about invasive spotted lanternflies and how to help prevent their spread by finding and recording the locations of their tree-of-heaven host trees.

After a 45-minute lunch break—bring your own—there will be an outing to Mongaup Campground to survey for the tree-of-heaven. This outing will take place from 12:45 to 2:30 p.m.

Stock your ponds

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — The Sullivan County Soil and Water Conservation District has started its annual trout stocking program. Those interested in stocking their ponds with trout, minnows, or crawfish can place their orders with the district until Monday, September 23. Pick-up day will be the following Saturday, September 28.

Anyone stocking a pond must apply for a fish stocking permit through the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation in New Paltz.
