June 24 Pike County Sentencing Information

Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

Martin Wesley Davis, age 32, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 8 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $600.00 for 2 counts of the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Davis was stopped by the state police along SR 739 in Blooming Grove Township on April 20, 2019, for heavy window tint.  A probable cause search revealed that Davis was in possession of Heroin.  Eastern Pike Regional Police were alerted to the presence of Davis and another individual in a business parking lot in Westfall Township on February 20, 2020.  There was an outstanding arrest warrant for Davis.  When Davis was confronted, he was found in possession of Methamphetamine. 

Christopher Michael Civale, age 32, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 2 years of probation and fined $1,000.00 for the crime of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.  Civale was observed by the state police selling Buprenorphine-Naloxone and Alprazolam to an individual at a business parking lot in Dingman Township on October 19, 2020.

Diane Marie Casey, age 75, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 17 days to 1 year in the Pike County Jail, followed by 2 years of probation and a $300.00 fine for the crime of Simple Assault.  During a domestic dispute, Casey struck a five year old child causing injury while at a residence in Lackawaxan Township on January 3, 2021.

Jenna Christine Caetano, age 27, of East Harford, CT, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000.00 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance.  The state police responded to a one-vehicle crash on March 16, 2020, along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township where Caetano had lost control of her vehicle. The trooper observed Caetano to have bloodshot, glassy eyes with dilated pupils and an odor of Marihuana emanating from the vehicle.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment.  Caetano refused to submit to a blood draw.

Joseph Casper Saragusa, age 25, of East Stroudsburg, PA, was sentenced to 11 days to 24 months less 1 day in the Pike County Jail and fined $700.00 for the crime of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and the Summary Offense of Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked. Saragusa was stopped by the state police on December 23, 2017, while traveling along Bushkill Falls Road in Lehman Township for an expired inspection and loud exhaust system.  The trooper detected the smell of Marihuana when contact was made with Saragusa.  Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and Saragusa was observed to have dilated, bloodshot eyes.  Saragusa was found to be driving on a suspended license with a minor in the vehicle.

George Barret Hill, age 55, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 1 year of probation and a fine of $650.00 for the crime of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and the Summary Offense of Criminal Mischief.  During an episode of road rage, Hill put another driver in danger by traveling too closely behind, entering her lane of travel to force her off the road, attempting to open her passenger door and hitting her passenger door with a baseball bat.

Kevin Michael Zeig, age 30, of Philadelphia, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.  Zeig was stopped by the state police on September 9, 2019, for speeding along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township.  Zeig was observed to be anxious, shaky and fidgety.  When asked to exit and remove his hands from his pockets, the trooper observed Heroin packets fall to the ground.  Zeig admitted to using Heroin and a blood test confirmed the presence of THC, Fentanyl and Morphine.

Ashley D. Hammerle, age 26, of Shohola, PA, was sentenced to 8 days to 18 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000.00 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crimes of Accident Involving Injury and Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to Twin Lakes Road in Shohola on November 15, 2020, where Hammerle crossed the double yellow lines narrowly missing an oncoming vehicle, struck a rock and overturned her vehicle several times.  Hammerle was observed fleeing the scene of the accident.  When contact was made with Hammerle, she was observed to have slurred speech, unsteady balance, bloodshot, dilated eyes and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Hammerle admitted to drinking prior to the accident.  Hammerle refused to submit to chemical testing.

Brian Keith Dickey, age 50, of Queensbury, NY, was sentenced to 27 months to 54 months in a state correctional facility and fined $500.00 for the crime of Receiving Stolen Property.  Dickey was found on September 7, 2020, in possession of a vehicle along I-84 in Palmyra Township which he knew was a stolen vehicle.

Sunny Steven Sorenson, age 54, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 6 months to 23 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500.00 for the crime of Simple Assault.  Sorenson struck an individual in the face at a residence in Greene Township on December 30, 2020, causing injury.

Lindsey E. Hutchinson, age 38, of Montague, NJ, was sentenced to 9 months to 23 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500.00 for the crime of Burglary.  Hutchinson and another individual made a plan on December 19, 2018, to conduct a burglary at business in Milford Township.  Hutchinson took a purse from a business break room without the permission of the owner, which purse contained $500.00 U.S. currency, a money order for $912.00 and $200.00 in assorted items.

Zachary Ryan DeGroat, age 21, of Maybrook, NY, was sentenced to 24 months of probation and fined $1,000.00 for the crimes of Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  DeGroat was found in possession of two Clonazepam pills at a residence in Greene Township on January 28, 2020. On December 2, 2020, the state police placed DeGroat under arrest at a residence in Greene Township.  DeGroat resisted, requiring to troopers to use substantial force to effectuate the arrest.  

Tina M. Ryerson, age 54, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 5 years of the Pike Care Program which will include 1 month to 12 months in the Pike County Jail, 90 days of house arrest, a fine of $2,100.00 and a driver’s license suspension of 18 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence, Resisting Arrest and Harassment.  The state police were dispatched to the intersection of Forest Drive and Canoe Brook Road in Blooming Grove Township on April 27, 2019, where public safety had detained Ryerson for suspected DUI.  Ryerson admitted to drinking prior to driving and Field Sobriety Tests showed impairment.  A breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .197%. During a domestic dispute on October 11, 2020, at a residence in Blooming Grove Township, Ryerson struck an individual and threatened to harm a minor individual.  When the state police attempted to place Ryerson under arrest, substantial force was required to overcome her. 

Michelle L. Dangelo, age 35, of Wantage, NJ, was sentenced to 5 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 6 months of probation, a fine of $600.00 and a driver’s license suspension of 24 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.  Following a disturbance at a bar in Milford on June 13, 2020, Dangelo was observed getting into the driver seat of a vehicle after being refused additional service at the bar and was told not to drive due to intoxication.  Dangelo refused to pull over to the lights and siren of the police officer.  When contact was made with Dangelo a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol content of .119%.

Serena Desiree Jaber, age 22, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to a fine of $400.00 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  On August 22, 2019, at a residence in Lehman Township, Jaber was found in possession of glassine packets, a straw and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Lawrence Curtis Giles, age 42, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to a fine of $300.00 for the Summary Offense of Harassment.  On November 14, 2019, during a domestic dispute, Giles kicked, shoved or threatened to kick or shove an individual at a residence in Lehman Township.

Dominick Soto, age 20, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was sentenced to a fine of $300.00 for the Summary Offense of Harassment.  On July 5, 2020, during a domestic dispute at a hotel in Westfall Township, Soto inflicted physical violence and/or threatened physical violence to an individual. 

Michael Dishon Munroe, age 28, of New Haven, CT, was sentenced to a fine of $400.00 for the crime of Possession of a Small Amount of Marihuana.  Munroe was stopped along I-84 in Westfall Township on January 21, 2020, for tinted windows and traveling too closely.  Munroe was found in possession of Marihuana.
