The 50th anniversary of Woodstock has come and gone. I got my cancelled stamp envelope from the Bethel Post Office. On Friday night, I went to see Ringo, Edgar Winters and Blood, Sweat and Tears. After taking the bus to Queens Saturday, I came right back up Sunday and decided to get tickets to see John Fogerty. I got the tickets, got home, and suddenly it was like a twister out there. My friends were already at Bethel and the concert was delayed one hour. Thank God for American Electric; my Generac generator kicked in, and that would not have been possible if I did not have a propane tank from Cochecton Oil. What crazy storms we’ve had this summer.

On Sunday, September 8, the St. Baldrick’s event at the corner in Eldred is looking for people to shave their heads to help fight childhood cancer. You can register at www.stbaldricks.org/events/lineofhope2019, give Lou a call at 845/557-3321 or email lineofhope@hvc.rr.com. There will be vendors, food and a tricky tray. Stop by and help Lou make this a great event.

The Cochecton Preservation Society is hosting “Coffee, Tea and History” on Sunday, September 22. Guest speakers are Fred Stabbert who will present “TREES” and Dr. Nancy Hackett who will talk about the one-room school houses of our area. It is free with refreshments, and door prizes too. Rain or shine. For more info call 845/932-8210 or email cps12726@gmail.com. It is always a fun day.

Join the Cochecton Youth Commission in its upcoming events. “Back to School Book Bingo Bonanza” takes place on Friday, September 13 at 6:30 p.m. What is book bingo, you ask? Book bingo is similar to regular bingo, except when you get bingo, you win an awesome new book. We will have brand new books that will range from tots to teens. The cost is free for in-town youth and $5 for out-of-town youth or adults.

Keep smiling and have a great week. You can email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net if you have any news. You can always check me out at www.riverreporter.com in
