Did you miss me? I was away on vacation with my sister, brother-in-law and best friend Paula. We went to Seattle, Washington for a few days before taking a cruise to Alaska. I had the best time. I turn 60 in December, and this was something that was on my bucket list. In Seattle we went to the Air Museum, Air Force One and the Concord. We got to see B52s and all the early war planes. We saw the Space Needle and did Pike Street Market. Then on to a wonderful seven-day cruise up to Alaska, stopping in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Victoria, Canada. The best part was Glacier Bay with all its beautiful mountains and glaciers. The views were absolutely breathtaking. I have to thank Lisa B-Vacation Specialist at TripGuy for making my travel plans so easy. I took a Short Line Bus from Monticello to Queens. The bus caught on fire, and I found myself on the side of the road, trying to get ahold of the police and fire departments. When they got my bag out from under the bus, I was very happy.

On Sunday, October 20, Woodloch Pines holds a special event each year to raise money for breast cancer. If you have never been, it is the biggest tricky tray I have ever been to, hundreds of really great prizes starting at 5 p.m. and ending around 8. Calling of the baskets starts at 7 p.m. Admission costs $10, and you can buy tickets to enter into special prizes. There is a complimentary wine and beer tasting, hors d’ oeuvres and a yummy dessert bar. If you want more information or would like to stay over, call 570/685-8002 and make a reservation. This is their 12th year—let’s make it a great one. Hope to see you there.
