HARRIS, NY — August is National Breastfeeding Month, and Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in collaboration with the Sullivan County Breastfeeding Coalition are inviting nursing mothers to come together on Thursday, August 2, at 11 a.m. the Latch-On in the Garden event. The gathering will be held in the Woodland Wildlings Garden, which is located behind CRMC’s main campus at 68 Harris-Bushville Rd.
The Latch-On in the Garden event is meant to raise awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and will include time to share experiences with fellow breastfeeding mothers, socialize and relax among other mothers, children and breastfeeding supporters. There will be gifts for breastfeeding moms and refreshments will be served. In addition, there will also be a breastfeeding walk at 2:30 p.m. in Monticello on the same day, August 2. The group will gather at the farmers' market located in Joe’s Park at 515 Broadway Rd. The group will take a 15-minute walk and return for a mothers’ circle.
