How many times has the GOP tried to take away your healthcare?

If you are no longer a carefree youth, chances are you have encountered some health issues. When the Affordable Care Act was passed and insurance companies were forbidden to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions, it came as a great relief to most American families.

Fast-forward to today, and we find that the Trump administration and its GOP enablers will not defend coverage for pre-existing conditions against lawsuits challenging the Affordable Care Act. Without that vital protection, many of us will once again be at the mercy of insurance companies who can charge premiums so exorbitant they effectively freeze out people with pre-existing conditions.

Think about how many times the GOP has tried to either totally destroy or sneakily undermine the Affordable Care Act. Well, that represents the number of times they have tried to take away your family’s healthcare coverage. Does a caring nation leave families at the mercy of greedy, unconstrained insurance companies? Is this how a country which truly cares about people over profit behaves? The only way to secure your healthcare coverage is to Vote Blue this November. The Republicans are clearly determined to take away your healthcare coverage. Let’s not allow them to get their way!

Considerations before voting

Before I vote, I watch the candidates and look up his/her views and vote for the one that my Christian faith lines up with the most, and I always start with life (pro-life). A few times I have had to choose between a Republican and a Democrat who are both pro-choice. I then look at who is for our U.S. Constitution as it is written rather than a candidate who wants to trample it.

Unfortunately, I have seen some of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s commercials on TV, and I am shocked that anyone would line themselves up with Cuomo, especially on the issue of abortion and his party’s manipulation of the term “reproductive rights.” I prayerfully try to understand, but I just don’t think like him or those who support him, so I just chalk it up as meaning that I should love and respect those people since they are flawed people, just as I am, and we are all created in the image of our perfect God. Also, I have seen hateful, foolish signs against U.S. Rep. Faso, rather than signs for the Democrat candidate; I am pretty sure that will cause more people to get up and vote for Faso than against him.

God help us to work together as people who are all made in God’s image to make America great again. Lastly, to all of you who are also so lovingly concerned about those people who have been separated from their families at the border, please open up your hearts a little more to those developing babies within their mother’s wombs and consider them as people too and vote pro-life.

God bless America, One nation under God, In God we trust.
