Native plants walk and photography workshop
MILFORD, PA — The Delaware Highlands Conservancy is leading a native plants walk and photography workshop on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Milford Experimental Forest. The conservancy’s conservation programs manager Amanda Subjin will lead the walk, and The River Reporter’s very own Sandy Long will teach participants how to take great photos in nature.
Advance registration is required; reservations cost $10 for conservancy members and $20 for non-members; children under 12 are free. Register online at www.delawarehighlands.org or call 570/226-3164.
Outdoor senior strolls
PARKSVILLE, NY — On Wednesday, May 15 at 3 p.m., the public is invited to join a senior stroll at the Parksville Rail Trail. This outing will be the first in a monthly series aimed at engaging folks age 60 and up to come out and enjoy several beginner trails in Sullivan County.
Lisa Lyons of Morgan Outdoors will lead the 1.5 mile-long trip. Hiking poles are available to improve stability.
Registration is required. Call Morgan Outdoors at 845/439-5507 by 12 noon on the 15th, or email info@morgan-outdoors. Participants should be able to walk two miles unassisted and have permission from their doctor if under medical care. The outing will be cancelled if heavy rain is forecast.
