Pike County Courts: Week of August 8

MILFORD, PA — Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

April Lynn Moyer, age 25, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $200.00 for 2 counts of the crime of Theft.  Moyer took currency totaling $200.00 while an employee at a business in Greene Township on August 1, 2019 and September 6, 2019, which she did not have permission to take.  On December 23, 2019, Moyer and another individual cut down trees and removed wood from a property in Greene Township without the permission of the property owner.  The value of the trees was determined to be $1,000.00.

Bryan A. Perez, age 31, of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to a fine of $452.50 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and the Summary Offense of Maximum Speed Limit.  The state police pulled Perez over on January 8, 2021, for doing 75 miles per hour along I-84 in Dingman Township.  A consent to search the vehicle revealed a glass smoking device and a grinder.

Derek Lee Thompson, age 39, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and a fine of $500.00 for the crime of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility.  Thompson used a cellular phone to facilitate the sale of a controlled substance on December 14, 2018, at a bridge located in Lackawaxen Township.

Victoria Lynn Wilklow, age 25, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 6 months of the Pike Care Program which will include 30 days of house arrest, a fine of $1,000.00 and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.  The state police came upon Wilklow parked along I-84 in Palmyra Township on November 29, 2020, with her vehicle hazard lights on.  The trooper detected the smell of Marihuana while speaking with Wilklow.  Wilklow admitted smoking Marihuana earlier and was observed to have dilated pupils and glossy eyes. Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a blood test confirmed the presence of Benzoylecgonine and THC in her blood.

Jonathan Thomas Herbert, age 26, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 20 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and a fine of $500.00 for the crime of Theft.  On November 27, 2016, Herbert took merchandise valued at $115.64 from a retail store in Westfall Township without paying for it and returned it to customer service for a cash refund. 

Courtney Marette Wilson, age 28, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 2 years of probation and a fine of $500.00 for the crime of Endangering the Welfare of Children.  The state police were dispatched to SR 507 in Greene Township where a three-year old child was found in the roadway.  Wilson was found to be the mother of the child and who had taken insufficient actions to protect the child.

Tari Timothy Eason, age 39, of Sunnyside, NY, was sentenced to 16 days to 32 days in the Pike County Jail and fined $500.00 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Eason was the passenger in a vehicle stopped by the state police on February 29, 2020, for traveling well below the posted speed limit along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township.  When the trooper approached the vehicle, he detected the smell of Marihuana.  A probable cause search revealed that Eason was in possession of plastic baggies for the storage of Marihuana and rolling papers.

Richard James Mammana, age 41, of East Stroudsburg, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police encountered Mammana traveling along SR 402 in Blooming Grove Township on June 12, 2020, at a very slow rate of speed.  Mammana was observed to have trouble standing and exhibited bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment.  Mammana refused to submit to a breath test.

Christopher Peter Spinucci, age 55, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, was sentenced to 6 months to 12 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $500.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked. The state police stopped Spinucci on June 15, 2020, at the I-84 and SR 507 ramp in Greene Township for driving on a suspended license.  A consent to search the vehicle revealed Spinucci in possession of Methamphetamine.

Stacy Lee Meigs, age 48, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, was sentenced to 6 months of probation without verdict and fined $300.00 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Meigs was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on June 15, 2020, along the exit ramp of I-84 and SR 507 in Greene Township.  A consent to search the vehicle authorized by the driver revealed Meigs in possession of a glass pipe used in connection with the ingestion of illegal substances.

Edgar Rivera, age 42, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to a fine of $300.00 for the crime of Harassment.  On October 9, 2020, at a business in Milford Township, Rivera attempted to or threatened physical contact to an individual with the intention to annoy or alarm the individual.

Angel Cabrera, age 22, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $800.00 for the crimes of Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The state police were called to a residence in Lehman Township on June 6, 2020, where Cabrera was reported to be under the influence of drugs and out of control.  Cabrera ignored the trooper’s request to cease and desist, causing substantial force to be used to subdue him.  Cabrera was found in possession of Fentanyl.
