Galligan secures nomination from four parties

The Sullivan County Republican Committee on February 19 voted to endorse Meagen Galligan in the race to become the next Sullivan County District Attorney.

Galligan, a Democrat, had previously secured the nomination of the Sullivan County Democratic Committee.

She is currently the acting district attorney; she moved to that position when former district attorney Jim Farrell took his seat as the new county judge.

Former county judge Frank LaBuda changed his party affiliation from Democratic to Republican as he also sought the Republican endorsement.

It's not clear if he will now run a primary race against Galligan.

Galligan has also secured endorsements from the Indepence and Conservative parties.
