GLOBAL — It’s tough to talk about climate change. It’s global and local at the same time. Plus, when a subject seems insurmountable, the educational messaging is tricky to dole out in bite-sized relatable pieces.

Enter Earth to Sky, a growing partnership between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The Earth to Sky Partnership nurtures and supports a growing community of interpreters, educators and scientists learning and sharing science and communication techniques.

As the Upper Delaware River valley is an important ecological region on the Eastern Seaboard, a five-member team was chosen as one of the first regional leadership teams to receive training. Mary Anne Carletta, Don Hamilton, Stephen Moulton, Carol Roig and Stephen Schwartz, who were trained in 2019, have now established and trained county-based teams in Sullivan, Delaware, Wayne and Pike counties. Each of these teams will create outreach projects to develop interpretive and education programs.
