HONESDALE, PA — Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announces the following cases were addressed by the Honorable Janine Edwards, President Judge Wayne County Court:

DANNY JOSEPH CANDELARIO, age 53, of Browndale, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in a State Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 12 months nor more then 24 months for one count of Simple Assault (M2). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution. The incident occurred on October 17, 2020 in Clinton Township.

GININA THERESA COUGHLIN, age 40, of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to 12 months probation for one count of Criminal Mischief – Damage Property (M3). She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay restitution in the amount of $2,560.55, continue drug and alcohol treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and have no contact with the victims. The incident occurred on June 23, 2020 in Lake Township.

EMILIEE ROSE DECKER, age 29, of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 6 months nor more than 48 months for one count of Endangering the Welfare of Children As a Parent/Guardian (F3). She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a mental health evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, participate in a parenting course, and comply with all directives of Wayne County Children and Youth Agency. The incident occurred on September 9, 2019 in South Canaan Township.

HENRY MATERN, age 29, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 24 days nor more than 6 months for one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M) and one count of Disorderly Conduct (M3). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol re-evaluation and comply with all treatment recommendations, and maintain employment while on parole or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment.

MARK D. McELROY, age 45, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 2 months nor more than 12 months for one count of Harassment – Engaged in a Course of Conduct (M3). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, have no unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 18, undergo a sex offender evaluation while incarcerated and comply with all treatment recommendations, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue with mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and maintain employment or provide documentation from a doctor preluding him from employment. The incident occurred on, about or between June 1, 2017 and March 31, 2020 in Honesdale Borough.

CAROL ANN SAYKEWICZ, age 74 ,of Lake Ariel, PA, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. She was also ordered to pay all costs, have her driving privileges suspended for a period of 60 days, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and complete 20 hours of community service. The incident occurred on May 14, 2021 in Palmyra Township.

BAILEY SCOTT VANLOAN, age 21, of Starlight, PA, was sentenced to 24 months probation with 90 days house arrest through the SCRAM program for one count of DUI-Controlled Substance/Combine Alcohol (M1) and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (M). He was also sentenced to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a mandatory minimum fine of $1,700.00, participate and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment in accordance with his assessment, complete the Alcohol Safety Program, and undergo a mental health evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment. The incident occurred on November 7, 2020 in Preston Township.
