WILKES-BARRE, PA — Coinciding with the Main Street Arts Fest, Building Blocks Learning Center will present a free performance of “Dot Dot Dot: A New Musical,” based on the popular children’s book “The Dot” at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, April 2. The show will begin at 6:30 p.m., and doors open at 5 p.m.

It’s recommended for kids in grades one through four.

The Main Street District Organization is gearing up for a week-long event, from Tuesday, April 2 to Saturday, April 6, aimed at raising awareness about the vital role of art and culture in the community, particularly for young children and families.

Main Street will be temporarily closed to traffic.

The event will end with a block party on Saturday, “filled with vendors, food trucks and organizations, all showcasing the rich offerings of downtown Main Street to our community” said Zubeen Saeed, president/CEO of Building Blocks Learning Center.

Wilkes-Barre businesses and community organizations are collaborating to develop the second block of Main Street into an art district. The organization comprises Main Street business owners and art organizations such as the Circle Center of the Arts, the Sordini Gallery, the Art League and more.

“We firmly believe that arts and culture play a fundamental role in shaping a community,” said Saeed. “They also serve as invaluable outlets for children, fostering emotional and social development.”

Tickets for “Dot Dot Dot” are free to children and their families but must be reserved at www.bit.ly/4a0NhoJ
