Walter L. Florek, 90, of Hawley, PA, passed away June 6, 2024 at home. Walter was born September 5, 1933 in Hanover Green, PA. A blessing service was held June 12 at Hessling Murray Funeral Home in Honesdale, PA. Interment with military honors followed in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley.

Betty F. Freiermuth, 101, formerly of Beach Lake, PA, passed away June 1, 2024 at the Forest City Nursing Home in Forest City, PA. A funeral service was held June 8 at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home in Honesdale, PA. Interment followed in Indian Orchard Cemetery in Hawley, PA. A memorial service will be held in the near future.

Stella Kurey

Stella Kurey, 98, of Bethany, PA and formerly of Lake Wallenpaupack, PA, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024. Stella was born April 3, 1926. Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Teeters’ East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 27 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave., in Hawley. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA on Friday, June 28 at 11:30 a.m.

Joseph F. McHugh, 65, of Honesdale, PA, passed away June 2, 2024 at home. Joseph was born October 18, 1958 in Manhattan, NY. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Margaret “Maggie” M. Meszler, 68, of White Mills/Hawley, PA, passed away June 2, 2024 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale, PA. Margaret was born July 28, 1955 in Honesdale. A funeral Mass was held June 11 at Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Peace Church in Hawley. Private interment to be in the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery in Hawley.

Richard George Parks Jr.

Richard George Parks Jr., 65, of Cherry Ridge, PA, passed away May 31, 2024 at home. Richard was born September 15, 1958 in Yonkers, NY. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, in Monticello, NY. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Monticello.
