HONESDALE, PA — A two-day workshop on the safe handling of pesticides will be held at the Wayne County Penn State Extension Office, located at 648 Park St.

The Private Pesticide Applicator Short Course will be offered by the Penn State Extension from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, and Thursday, February 1. It is designed for those who want to apply restricted-use pesticides on their or their employers’ properties, and helps them prepare for the PA Department of Agriculture’s private pesticide applicator certification exams. 

Instructors will review key material in the Pesticide Core and Supplemental Manual. Small group activities and breaks will take place between chapters.

Participants can register for any of the workshops through January 26 for a $40 fee. The registration fee does not include study materials.
