Gerald A. “Gerry” Allen, 73, a longtime resident of the area, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. Gerry was the adopted son of the late Bennet and Maude (Everett) Allen. He was born August 25, 1949 in New York City.  The family also had adopted before Gerry, two older sons: the late Eddie and Stanley.

In 1960 the family saw an advertisement for Lucky Lake, Bennet packed up the family and moved to Narrowsburg, NY.  They had bought the Kraus Farm, they farmed the property before turning it into a boarding house/motel, now known as the Arrowhead Apartments.

 Gerry was an outstanding (star)basketball player, he was on the 1966 Championship team for Narrowsburg Central School.  He graduated from Narrowsburg Central School in 1967.  He went to college for 2 years and was drafted into the Army, Vietnam War.  He served 2 years and received an honorable discharge.  He went on to work and retire from the United States Post Office in NYC.  He then returned to Narrowsburg, NY.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.  Rev. Phyllis Haynes will officiate the services.
