Gertrude K. Martin, of Roanoke, VA and formerly of Narrowsburg, NY and Pipersville, PA, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Kutcher, and was born September 24, 1927 in Narrowsburg.

 Gertrude is survived by her husband of 70 years, Leonard Martin; daughter Kathleen Robertson and her partner Peter Krupski of Roanoke; son-in-law Robert Barber of Furlong, PA; two granddaughters: Jennifer Conicello and her husband Chad of Doylestown, PA and Kathleen Ordile and her husband Greg of Chalfont, PA; and five great-grandchildren: William, Samuel and Evelyn Conicello and Annaliese and Christopher Ordile; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Barber, and four sisters: Ruth Cunningham, Margaret Preis, Mary Dermody and Dorothy Meyer.

Gertrude was an avid cook, baker and entertainer. She loved to accessorize with her purses, scarves, hats and gloves! She retired from Jeff Bank in Jeffersonville, NY, where she greeted her customers with her infectious smile. Gertrude was devoted to her family and her faith, and enjoyed time spent in these endeavors.

The family would like to thank Gertrude’s caregivers and Good Sam Hospice for the care they provided her.

A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Nazareth Roman Catholic Church in Roanoke on June 28 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Narrowsburg.
