Hamlin man arrested for child pornography

Posted

HAMLIN, PA -- Christopher P. McIntosh, 43, of Hamlin, PA, was arrested on June 18 and charged with ten
counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography, a second-degree felony; ten counts of
Possession of Child Pornography, a second-degree felony; and one count of Criminal Use of
Communication Facility, a third-degree felony.

The arrest was announced by Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell.

The investigation leading to McIntosh's arrest started in October 2023, when county detectives received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) that two files of child pornography had been uploaded.

In May the detectives received another CyberTipline report concerning the uploading
of 39 images of child pornography, then shortly afterward received another report about the uploading of three more images. Detectives used the reports to determine that McIntosh was uploading the child pornography, according to Howell.

Detectives served McIntosh with an arrest warrant and a search warrant at his residence. They were assisted by deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, members of the PA State Police Northeast Computer Crimes Task Force, members of the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the  U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

McIntosh was taken into custody and brought before Magisterial District Judge Dunsinger for a
preliminary arraignment. Bail was set at $250,00, and McIntosh was remanded to the Wayne
County Correctional Facility. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 26 at
9 a.m.

The NCMEC serves as a national clearinghouse for families, victims, and law enforcement on missing and sexually exploited children. The CyberTipline and Child Victim Identification Program help identify trends.

The Wayne County District Attorney's Office is an "affiliated agency" of the Pennsylvania
Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, a collaboration among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to prevent, investigate, and prosecute the exploitation of children on the
internet.

County detectives are also members of the Pennsylvania State Police Northeast Computer
Crimes Task Force and members of the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task
Force (ICAC).
