REGION — Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties has been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as a Superior Performer in 2022 for achieving an overall caregiver and family satisfaction score that ranked in the top 20 percent of all eligible SHP clients in the country.
The annual SHPBest™ award program was created to acknowledge hospice organizations that consistently provide high quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care.
Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties previously won this award in 2019 and 2018. “The clinical teams continuously work on improving the quality of care we provide,” said Melissa Hansen, R.N., chief clinical officer of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties. “By making staff available on nights and weekends, placing an importance on educating families, to give them the tools and knowledge they need to care for their loved ones and recognizing the importance of communication, making sure families are informed, we have been able to respond to, and meet, the needs of our patients and their families and caregivers.”
