I am running for state representative to effect change and return our commonwealth to our founding principles. Like many Americans, I have become disenchanted with political party games that leave ordinary citizens like us wondering what they are getting for their tax dollars. I believe in a government that supports our God-given, Constitutional rights. A government that understands the primary role of the government is to promote the safety and security of its citizens. Americans and Pennsylvanians should come first.

As a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, I will foster a dialogue with all constituents. I will stop reckless spending. I will seek to defend the priorities important to the people of our community. I will work with my fellow elected officials to create the vital change that is necessary in Harrisburg. I am advocating for eliminating the school property, instituting universal school choice, and drastically reducing the commonwealth’s bloated budget.

I am currently a small business owner and entrepreneur and previously worked in the information technology field for both state governments and national technology companies. In these capacities, I served as executive management, administering projects and budgets in millions of dollars.

Before my professional career, I served in the United States Navy working in communications and information technology. I have served as judge of elections for Milford Township, president of our Homeowner’s Road Association, president of Pennsylvania Advocacy for Children’s Education (paceunited.org), an organic parent group formed in the Delaware Valley School District, baseball coach for Little League, and, in my most important roles, husband and father to a wonderful family in this great community of ours.

Over the past several years I have been an advocate for change in our education system and local government. I have championed our First, Second, and Fourth Amendment rights. I have lobbied for a better future for our children and our commonwealth. I have given testimony in the senate in Harrisburg on behalf of parental rights, government transparency, and medical freedom.

I have a unique and diverse set of business skills that my opponent does not possess. These skills combined with my community advocacy make me uniquely qualified to serve in Harrisburg.

I would like to continue to work for you, the citizens of Pike and Wayne counties. I would be honored if you allowed me to be your advocate as a State Representative.

I look forward to our work together for the betterment of our whole community. Thank you!

Matthew Contreras, Pennsylvania General Assembly, Pennsylvania Advocacy for Children’s Education, Delaware Valley School District, Little League, Second Amendment
