TOWN OF FALLSBURG, NY — Starting Thursday, September 28, the Town of Fallsburg will launch a swim program designed to bring community members together “for a splashing good time,” Dr. Sean Wall-Carty, deputy supervisor, wrote in a press release.
Residents—including adult swimmers—can dive into open swim sessions at the Fallsburg Junior Senior High School pool.
The program runs until Thursday, November 30.
“Our aim is to foster a sense of community, health and well-being among Fallsburg residents,” said Kathy Rappaport, town supervisor. District students Allana, Katelyn, Lilly and Ross were offered jobs as lifeguards.
The open swim sessions will be held at the school’s pool, “providing a safe and enjoyable environment for participants of all ages,” Wall-Carty wrote. Sessions are open to individuals and families. Lifeguards will be on duty to ensure the safety of all swimmers.
The program includes dedicated adult swim sessions, meant for adults who wish to enjoy a peaceful swim.
The swim program is free of charge for town residents, and there is a $5 fee for out-of-town participants. The fee ensures that the program remains accessible to the broader community, Wall-Carty wrote.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance to secure their spots and ensure a smooth check-in process. Registration forms can be found on www.townoffallsburg.com/ or on bit.ly/3rpErzH.
For more information, call the supervisor’s office at 845/434-8810 or visit the town clerk’s office, 19 Railroad Plaza, South Fallsburg.
