What Susan Brown Otto neglected to tell readers

Posted

I read with interest Susan Brown Otto’s letter in the June 16 edition of the Democrat, where she asked for our fellow Republicans’ support for Tom Cawley in next Tuesday’s primary election.

I agreed with some of what Susan stated. I agree it is very important to vote in the primary, whether during the early voting period or on Tuesday, June 27, Primary Election Day. I agree that experience matters in every election choice. I even have to agree that Tom Cawley is the only registered Republican running in this primary. What Susan and I agree on in this particular election ends here.

What Susan didn’t tell the readers of her letter was the fact that Tom Cawley only became a registered Republican in January of this year, when he chose to switch from his longtime membership in the Democrat Party after failing to gain the endorsement and support of his fellow Democrats!

Tom Cawley, who in my opinion is a good man, is by no means a conservative Republican. He may be the only registered Republican in the primary, but the ONLY reason he is, is because he thinks it will help him personally in his attempt to get elected!

Brian Conaty is from a family of conservative Republicans who have always stood for the same values that I do: Faith, Family and the Constitution of this great Country.

I am supporting Brian Conaty, the acting district attorney of Sullivan County, and I ask my fellow Republicans to join me.

Thank you.

Thomas Bose lives in Youngsville, NY.
