MILFORD, PA — Ronnie Penque’s Panama Dead, a tribute to the music of The New Riders of the Purple Sage (NRPS), will perform at Back Road Brewing Co. at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21 as part of the brewery’s second annual Country Jamboree Day.
Penque, current bassist and vocalist for NRPS, last appeared in Milford with The New Riders as part of the 2006 Milford Music Fest. At that time, the performance was cut short due to unforeseen circumstances. Now the community can hear the music.
Panama Dead plays all the classic NRPS songs, including “Henry,” “Last Lonely Eagle,” “Glendale Train” and more.
The members of Panama Dead are Ronnie Penque (bass guitar and lead vocals), Mike Flynn (lead guitar and vocals), Wayne Wilson (pedal steel guitar), Kevin Johnson (drums) and Jeff Pearlman (keyboards and vocals).
Back Road Brewing Co.’s Country Jamboree will be a day of fun, food, games, vendors and music, organizers said. The day will also feature performances by Kenny Curcio at 1 p.m. and Whiskey Crossing at 6:30 p.m.
Doors open at 12 noon and admission is free.
The brewery is located at 248 Old Milford Rd.
