Transforming the Everhart at the Scranton Fringe Festival

SCRANTON, PA — The Scranton Fringe Festival (SFF), along with the Center For The Living City and the Everhart Museum, will hold the festival’s grand kickoff on Thursday, September 26 with a large-scale 3D projection art installation at the museum.
Using powerful projectors and 3D animation, the projection will create the illusion that the museum’s facade is transforming into a fusion of art and technology.
An encore presentation will be held on Friday, September 27. The outdoor presentation is free of charge.
The work is made possible thanks to funding support from the Scranton Area Foundation, Lackawanna County and other sponsors.
The lead artist for the project is Michael Nasser.
Vital technical support is provided by Endeavor Audio & Light Services Inc.
“The 10th anniversary of the Scranton Fringe Festival is a milestone event and the scale of this gorgeous project reflects how far we’ve come as an organization,” said Elizabeth Bohan, SFF co-founder and managing director. “We are incredibly proud of the community Fringe has built, and so excited to kick off our 10th year together by presenting this major art installation.”
Scranton Fringe is an award-winning arts organization that “is dedicated to creating a bold, engaging platform for thought-provoking art while striving to promote Northeast Pennsylvania as a viable creative environment,” a spokesperson said.
The 2024 festival will feature theater, film, music, visual arts and more across multiple venues from September 26 to October 6.
The Center For The Living City, the only urbanist organization founded in collaboration with Scranton native Jane Jacobs, is co-producer of the event.
The Everhart is located at 1901 Mulberry St. in Nay Aug Park.
The full lineup of the 2024 festival can be found at www.scrantonfringe.org.
